Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Float It browser extension and the floatit.co website (together, the "Service"), provided by Float It ("we", "us", "our"). By installing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. The Service

Float It is a browser extension that lets you select text on a webpage and view it in a separate, always-on-top window, with optional local saving, tagging, and organization features. It's available on a Free plan and a Pro plan, described below.

1.1 Free plan

The Free plan includes the core floating-window functionality, up to 50 saved snippets, notes, search, and basic appearance controls, at no cost, for as long as you use the extension.

1.2 Pro plan

Pro unlocks unlimited saved snippets, tags, pins, reading themes, custom typography, read aloud, collect mode, backup and restore, and related features, in exchange for payment as described in Section 3.

You must be able to form a binding contract to use the Service, and comply with all applicable laws when doing so. You agree not to:

3. Purchases, billing, and Lemon Squeezy

Pro is sold and billed through Lemon Squeezy, our payment processor, who acts as the Merchant of Record for all purchases. This means Lemon Squeezy handles payment collection, sales tax/VAT where applicable, and is the party you'll see on your card or bank statement — not Float It directly. Lemon Squeezy's own Terms of Use apply to the payment transaction itself.

3.1 Plans and pricing

We currently offer a one-time Lifetime purchase and a recurring Yearly subscription. Current prices are shown at floatit.co/#pricing and at checkout. Prices may change for future purchases; changing the price of a plan does not change what you're charged for a subscription you already hold — see Lemon Squeezy's subscription terms for how price changes are handled going forward.

3.2 Automatic renewal

The Yearly plan renews automatically at the then-current price at the end of each billing period, unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel anytime through the Lemon Squeezy customer portal or from the ✦ PRO panel inside the extension. If you cancel, you'll keep Pro access until the end of the period you already paid for.

3.3 License activation limits

Each Pro license may be activated on up to 3 browsers at a time. You can release a browser's activation at any time from the extension's Pro panel to free up a seat for another device.

3.4 Refunds

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on Pro purchases, no questions asked. Contact feedback@floatit.co within 14 days of your purchase and we'll issue a refund. Refunds are processed by Lemon Squeezy and may take several business days to appear on your statement, depending on your bank or card issuer.

4. Your content and data

Snippets, notes, tags, and settings you create in Float It are stored locally on your device and remain yours. We don't access, transmit, or claim any ownership over this content. See our Privacy Policy for the full details on what data the Service handles and why.

5. Intellectual property

The Float It name, logo, and the extension's software, design, and website content are owned by us or our licensors and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose — they don't transfer any ownership rights to you.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every website or browser configuration.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Float It and its developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the extension. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for anyone who violates these Terms, engages in abuse, or attempts to circumvent licensing controls. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 5, 6, 7, and 9 — will continue to apply.

9. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Serbia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the competent courts of Belgrade, Serbia, and you consent to that jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer-protection laws, nothing in this section removes any protection those laws give you that cannot be waived by contract — including, where applicable, your right to bring a claim in your own country of residence.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
